July  2009 Happenings

Sorry folks but with summer here it seems that time just flies and everyone is up north or was on vacation,  including me.

If you are a visitor to this website and have never been to our church..let me say...we are a godly and friendly bunch of folks.

Are you looking for a church...come on..we would LOVE to have YOU!!!!

I will try to update you as to what's happening here at Wesley Chapel.

We have sooooo enjoyed Pastor Jay Sloan. He has been excellent for us in our transition. I am sure God has used and sent the right person to us. He understands our dilemmas and problems and as a Godly man should, has assured us that this too will pass and with much prayer we will have a permanent pastor and a growing church. We ALL are praying for this and can see Gods hand in all that is happening.

This coming Sunday we will hear a Pastor Mack Brown from Arkansas. He will be preaching in the morning service and spending the day with us so we can all get to know one another. It will be a busy Sunday as we have been serving breakfast from 9:00am-10:30am every Sunday morning. This Sunday will be no different other than we will also have a pot luck after the morning service for Pastor Mack Brown so we can fellowship together. Sunday nite we had already planned on ice cream, so as you can see we will be (eating all day), just what us Nazarenes like to do. ha

 

Monday we found our Vista PC crashed with all our financial data on it. We were only able to save the hard drive and are using it as an external drive on our old XP machine. After more than 34 hours of working and trying to restore data it is coming together.

By the time our northerners get back here it will be operable.

Now for some more somber news. Mary Hudson's daughter (Shirley) passed away. We had been praying for Shirley for quite sometime. I ask that you please remember Gary and Mary Hudson and family at this time. It has been real hard on them all.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Shirley on August 9th, 2009 at the Dade City Womans Club 37922 Palm Ave, Dade City Fl 33525 from 2:30-5:00pm

Dress Casual, Optional: Bring a dish to share that you and Shirley loved, a favorite memory or photo.

Please also pray for Mary's daughter Tina who has some recurring tumors. This is a time that we as christians need to come together for support of our church family.

Wanda Conner underwent knee surgery this week so please say a prayer for her quick recovery, I know that Ralph would appreciate it also.

Davis Schult had surgery this week also, please pray for him for a FULL recovery and also for he and Nancy for needed employment.

A request from SueEllen for prayer for Diane (a friend) with pancreatic cancer.

I am sure I have missed some folks, please,  just pray for God to touch anyone that reads this update and needs prayer .

Sorry about not getting out Birthday and Anniversary greetings but I was on Vacation. For those that had a birthday and anniversary....

If you have not been to Wesley Chapel Nazarene Church lately you will find some changes. Pastor Jay Sloan is our interim pastor until we are able to locate a New Pastor for our Church.

You will not be disapointed with Jay as he is a dynamic speaker and you will be blessed with his messages that challenge us all.

We have added a Sunday morning breakfast served from 9:00 - 10:30 am. We want folks to come and enjoy Sunday School so by offering breakfast you will have more time avail. to ready yourself for church. Please plan on joining us for devotions and fellowship breakfast and a great Sunday School Lesson.

We are also keeping our doors open on Sunday Nights and Wednesdays. If you have a prayer need please come and join us.  We will be avail. for fellowship and prayer.

We are attempting to create a WCCN group e-mail list where we can send  greetings your way and it's also a way for us to create prayer chains for those in need.

If you have not left us your e-mail address please do so. You may leave it at the  church office.

 

Everyone is chipping in and helping with keeping the church in tip-top shape. If you have a special trade that you believe we can use..please let us know.
