Wesley Chapel Church of the Nazarene recently made available to the Zephyrhills Wesley Chapel Ministerium Association, three trailers for immediate use in the area to address the needs of those without shelter. An overnight shelter has been the plan for these trailers already hooked up for utilities and safety alarms. Work days are still being planned to ready these units with new hot water heaters and flooring. As the project completion has been awaiting workers, a new opportunity arises as the project unfolds into a reality for our area.
February 19th, Pastor Paul Burdick met with the board of a new organization known as Journey Village, Inc. You will be hearing more about this organization combining efforts throughout Pasco County to deliver a place for those in need of a place.
Now, enters Journey Village Inc. with a vision, land and an excited board working in the field to organize, legitimize and mobilize a plan for a shelter. They are filing their 501C3 status paper work and will be ready to launch this project.
Present property is available for a site in Dade City, as well as three to five acres in Zephyrhills for future development.
"We are all excited about the use for these trailers in the immediate start up plans for this work in East Pasco County and the blessing it will provide for those in immediate need, " says Pastor Paul Burdick.
Area ministries have already been working in the rehabilitation of the trailers from classrooms to homeless shelters. For more information on how you may get involved drop up us a line on the contact page.
