Political reporting from MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and local print, has reached new lows in failing to deliver information we really required, to "get the facts." In order to find "the facts," I had to practice research, law, and defend my right to request unbiased free speech.
In fascist regimes, questions against the regime result in the punishment of the one bringing the question. We have seen this mode of operation in this election. We have not heard all the voices correctly, or the base issues in total. If this commentary makes print, I will be amazed for someone may read what a majority are feeling in central Florida. This is what concerns me as a "freedom of speech loving American" considering this election.
Coming from a military family, University trained with a Masters degree, and ordained by a mainstream Protestant denomination "to speak", I am concerned in our freedom to do so. I can tackle any intellectual with the same authors and quotes they read, with their categories and do so without yelling. As long as speech aligns with the "progressive point of view" ( which for the most part is regressive, Godless, and a recapitulation of national world history political failures of the past ) articles get published, positions are advanced, criticisms and reporting is edited attacking anything to the contrary. The results have been poorly researched, biased, "anti-Christian" edited attempts to pound down opposition. That is simply poor journalism. If you are an intellectual, you should remain confident enough to articulate your point of view without killing the opposition. What about dialog?
The reality is, America remains a conservative land, where the phrase "God and Country" still rolls comfortably off the tongues of "the many." What we have seen is a pandering by the media, of a nation hit by terrorists, responding in the world theatre, tied up by a Democratic run Congress, and hurting from the breadbasket with lost jobs, somehow totally blaming its president. The truth is, we have an America that traded its security in God, for cash and credit.
That dysfunctional blame came easy. The real culprit should be considered; ALL OF US and our lack of responsibility to hold government, and our own choices accountable. America traded its security in God, for the love of money, security in the bull market, and a house. America took the cash, the credit, the house and forgot to read the papers of what they signed off on; A bad mortgage deal, votes on poor congressional inhabitants; and false security in cash. That cash bull god (small "g") has fallen. Those who suffer loss, cry out under the illusion that "Presidents" are responsible for that breadbasket, and that any kind of change is better than what we have now. Change at any cost? Didn't your choice count? Can you blame yourself for anything?
The changes proposed have ALL been empty. We will all be paying more taxes. We will all be fighting for free speech. We will remain the target of terrorists. We will continue to have our freedoms stripped away, our Constitutional rights rewritten by the few, rather than the votes of the people. Our country and the markets consulted all day long, have lost some strength, yet, they will remain "the god" by vote, should people vote only on the economy. Or will it? Is your faith in a candidate? Or something, or someone else?
The few are given power by your vote. They have proven not to act in your best interest, though it is supposed to work that way. It is no time for apathy. You still need to vote. Supreme Court Justices are chosen by the one the majority voted for as President, and approved by the Congress you have elected. If you don't vote in person, the truth is, you have voted in absence by your in silence.
Presently, we have seen the shift to paper, where loyalty to the traditional family is attacked, where the Constitution and Bill of Rights are questioned, and where no one may be trusted to deliver anything but loss. That paper is digital, in words distributed without trees faster than you can blink, and edited as fast you can click.
So, who is editing this country? Editors, editing the opposing views, instead of allowing for free speech flexing their muscles. If this Freedom of speech is up for correction this election, it will be demonstrated by vote. It will be demonstrated when the vote is counted proving all the polls, the slanted biased articles, and "hate speech and smears" against the conservative and slighted in the media, contrary to "their" projections.
This will only happen if you will vote. If your apathetical pass on this base freedom "to speak" results will go with the media. There will be a further silencing of the lambs. The media owners will believe they created the outcome, the ad agencies that created the ads will boast in their creativity and strategies, and they will all flex their wings like proud cocks at sunrise perceiving their manipulated hope is now emerging on the horizon.
They will continue to sacrifice the lambs of reason, and work to call anything from the Bible that comes against their worldview, "hate speech." It is all up for vote. So, think again what you are doing, or not doing this election. In theory, the results are waiting on your vote.
